Why Letters?
Letters to a Young Woman is a forthcoming collection of letters written by women to women—past, present, and future.
Each letter is a moment of pause: a reflection, a story, a truth, or a lesson. Whether it’s wisdom gathered over decades or the raw honesty of someone still learning, this book is built around one core belief—women carry powerful things to say. Sometimes it’s the note we wish we’d received at 16. Other times, it’s the one we’re finally ready to write.
Curated by a woman who’s worn many hats—chef, welder, writer, mother—this book is still unfolding. We’re inviting letters from all walks of life, because no single voice can capture the full range of what it means to be a woman in the world.
Publication is expected in Autumn 2026, and we’re still collecting voices. Interested in writing a letter?
Let’s Start With a Story
This project was inspired by the book Letters to a Young Farmer, a collection of letters written to the next generation of farmers. It is full of wisdom, humor, and hard-won truth, and without it, my passion for farming may have sizzled out when times got tough. It’s a book that played a monumental role in the direction of my life. But as a woman navigating life, work, motherhood, identity, and ambition, I find myself wanting something similar — something rooted in the feminine perspective and lived experience.
What if we asked women — artists, mothers, activists, musicians, healers, rebels — to write the kind of letters they wished they’d received? Or the ones they now feel called to send?
And what if we gathered them in one place, for the young women of today and tomorrow?
That’s where Letters to a Young Woman was born.
And it’s only just beginning.
